One effective way to get create quality moji's is to use both Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2 together.
After your artwork has been created in Illustrator, unlock all of the layers and copy the entire image. (Ctrl+C)

Open up Photoshop CS2 and create a new image that is 500px X 500px on a white background.
Create a new layer and paste your image from Illustrator. (Ctrl+V)
A dialog box will appear asking what you would like to paste your image as. Smart Objects work best as they can easily be altered in size without experienceing pixelation problems.

Resize your image to best fit the entire canvas.

Once you are satified with your moji, choose File..Save for Web
GIF of JPG?
GIF's tend to work better if your moji has large areas of unniform color and if the total number of colors is around 256. If your mojji is very intricate and detailed, similar to a photograph, JPG would be a better route.
The result should be a moji that is ready to be uploaded. |
