I imagine these critters as herbivores that punch holes in tough skinned melons with their claws and suck the seeds and innards out. They don't have eyes, so they probably use echo-location, keen hearing, a good sense of smell, and heat sensitivity to detect their environment.
This is an adult. The young ones are much smaller, and can glide to escape foes. They live in rain forests near high canyons and tall trees.
