I am an Animation student at the Art institute of Dallas, for art has always been there for me. I started as a kid trying to draw as good as my older brothers and create characters and creatures like them, once older one of my older brothers started just drawing his own style of comic books for the fun of it, and I happily followed suit with my own style. Because of the style of the comics my skills improved in the cartoony character style but not much in the realistic style. Now, with a better understanding of Photoshop and 2 yrs experience with it, I am starting to create characters with color and a not so very cartoony feel. 3D is actually what I am studying at the moment, but 2D is always there for me to do whenever and wherever…

i'll have to take a look at that site. i could always use some inspiration. the circles behind the illustrations are pretty much to give a little contrast to the pieces themselves. i tend to use some pretty light colors so it just helps them stand out from the white background. thanks again for the kind words man

Hey thanks for the great comment. It's funny, I've since tried to apply a little more detail to my characters since I recognize the bio feature as a useful one.. more so than I did before. Ernie the Wurm is a piece alternatively titled "Crisis at Exigency Juncture". It was derived from a much earlier work of mine titled "death of the gray bird". The gray bird is the protector of a seed which contents do not belong to her. While Ernie was the bringer of her death, he was the catalyst that the seed she carried found purchace in the fertile ground below. Consequently Earnie's fate was sealed as the birth of the seed's contents turned out to be "the gift bearer", an Angel whose purpose was at once to destroy and to set forth anew. Earnie is and always was, but will be taken away. He is simple and does not think. There's little more to Earnie as his purpose is more catalytic than substantial.

thanks... i need to really work on my 3d to do something worthwhile... i really like maya though.. just takes a little getting used to i guess..... yeah india's pretty inspiring...i think the visual culture here is really different. It's good to see that you'd rather make accusations about me getting my friends to vote on my character on other people's comments board (luther1000), rather than on mine. I guess making something poop, or bloody is apparently "a cheap shot" but the masses of people designing countless robots and aliens is fine. I hope I never have to battle you ever, because atleast Luther1000 was a gentleman and a sport. Whining doesn't make you a better character designer. You have an excellent asthetic, and your detail and shading is superb, please try and have the attitude and showmanship that is the same level as your art skill.

Most of the pics that I have had in war (like almost all of the ones that I have up there) I never expected them to make it, so there's really no way to predict what people will like.
