Also known as a Foo Dog, these creatures guard the entrances to palaces and temples. Males usually hold some kind of jewel or a ball, while females are usually shown with a cub. In myth, they play on the sides of mountains. They also are known for throwing their young off the side of mountains to see if it is stong and powerful enough.
